TESTIMONIALS

Brenna Jara

Class of '16

“The teachers at NICS were all helpful and kind whether it was taking the time to help me with things that I did not understand or making me feel welcome. NICS was like a family to me, and I loved everyday how we would learn from a Christian world view and have chapel every Friday. The school helped me to grow in my faith, learn more about God, and helped me apply it to my daily life after I graduated from NICS in 2016.”

Caleb Davis

Class of '15

"My time at NICS encouraged a good working ethic, responsible time management, and independent study. I also appreciated the small class sizes as it allowed the teachers to give students more attention and encouraged healthy relationships between the teachers and students."

Class of '18

“My name is Aimee Wheatcraft and I graduated from NICS in 2018. North Iowa Christian School made such an amazing impact on my life. Growing up, I was raised in a Christian home. Even though starting at NICS in 6th grade was scary for me, little did I know it was the best decision my parents made with my schooling. Being a part of NICS kept me on track in my faith. The teachers were always ready to answer any question I had. NICS was also great Christian based learning that prepared for the challenges of college.”

“My high school experience at North Iowa Christian School prepared me best by giving me leadership opportunities that taught me about myself and the world around me. The school helps the students to really invest and make the most of the resources they have available.”

Class of '20

“Hi, I’m Megan Dahlin, a 2020 graduate of North Iowa Christian School. I began my journey with NICS when I was in the third grade. I’d be lying if I said everything came easy to me. I was a homeschooler before I joined NICS and I hadn’t had much experience with making friends. It took a long time for me to get my footing and during that time I had trouble with making friends, but I learned how to reach out to others instead of waiting for someone to reach out to me. Being at NICS challenged me to step out of my comfort zone. I learned how to handle connecting with people and how to build new friendships.”

"Attending NICS has been huge in shaping the person I am today. I didn't just learn facts about God; I learned practical ways to nourish my relationship with Him and live out Christ's plan for my life. The kids at NICS have become some of my closest friends and I still keep in contact with several of the teachers."

Class of '17

"The best part of NICS for me was being able to play on the basketball team. Basketball is one of the main reasons I came to NICS, and getting to play in every game with my friends was fantastic. I also enjoyed the family type of environment the school has; everyone knows everyone and all are able to interact with each other. The teachers encouraged the family atmosphere, but also pushed us to keep trying and were willing to help us succeed."

Abby Callison

Class of '11

"When I was at NICS I was able to enjoy one-on-one instruction and attention from teachers and staff. I had a teacher that pushed me and challenged me in my learning! The way she taught made me want to come to class and really learn. I learned something new every time she taught. To this day, I am grateful for how she guided me in my schooling."

Kalina Davis

Class of '13

“North Iowa Christian School helped provide me with a strong biblical knowledge and foundation beginning at an early age, which has helped shape my understanding of the Bible today and my worldview. I am grateful for the teachers who took time to not only teach course material, but positive values and attitudes as well. I have carried these lessons with me into the interactions and situations I’ve faced after my time at North Iowa Christian School, and I believe that these lessons have given me a broader and more balanced perspective than what I might have received in a different educational setting. The education I received at North Iowa Christian School and the experiences I had there built character and instilled values in me that have helped shape me into who I am today.”

Ethan Grismore

Class of '08

"NICS helped prepare me for the real world by laying the foundations in my Christian faith upon which everything else would be built. In every single aspect of life, NICS taught me the importance of putting God first. By persevering in this, we will find success in everything else through Him.”

Jesup Pirie

Class of '15

NICS helped to develop not only how to function as a whole, but to be respected as an individual, teaching me with grace and mercy, and allowing me to finish my high school career with flying colors, deep friendships I still hold dear to this day, and a deep love and desire to honor the Lord in everything I do, say, and think.

If I could have changed anything, it would be that I had attended NICS much sooner, but the Lord, who works all things for His good, delivered me to NICS when He had, and I am forever grateful. If you are considering having your child attend, I highly recommend. Take that step of faith today. Knowledge, integrity, and a love for people exist, and is carefully stewarded within this school.

A Christian education must primarily teach people to be able to think in Christian categories. - T.S. Eliot

NICS has been a great blessing to our family of six children. Four of them have graduated from NICS so far and they are all doing well. Our oldest just bought a house and the other three are working good jobs. One has gone to college and a second one is getting ready to. We were happy to invest in their education because it reinforced the good start in life we were wanting them to have.

A safe social and educational environment gave us all peace of mind. The testimony and teaching of the community for Christian beliefs and values surrounded our children everyday they were at school learning the other important things they needed to prepare them for life.

The size of the school also opened up opportunities they would have otherwise not taken, such as sports and drama. We will never regret the sacrifice and investment we made in our children’s education and spiritual development by sending them to NICS. We are thankful we had the choice and the option.

I consider the North Iowa Christian School the best investment that I make for my kids. Although the school is academically a very high achiever, the Christian elements of their education is what I value most. My kids get to study science with a Christian world view, and they are continually growing in understanding of the Bible and in a deep and solid faith.

Wonderful teachers who give each child personalized attention! The love of God shows through both in what they teach and how they teach it. I can rest assured my kids are getting a great education completed by the inclusion of God and His Word every day.

When our kids started going to the North Iowa Christian School four years ago, we had been homeschooling previous to that. Academically, the school provided the levels and challenges they needed to succeed. Socially, they have learned sportsmanship and looking after the younger classes. It was a timely addition to our lives and we are grateful for the opportunities the school provides.

We love NICS! Our family loves the smaller class sizes and individual attention our kids are given here! We also love that the staff is invested not only in our kids’ education but also in their character and the adults they are growing into.
