Life Statement:
My life statement is from Philippians 1:6, “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” God is the one who began the good work in us and He is the one who will complete it. We can both rejoice and rest in Him.
Biopic:
I was born and raised in Chicago, attending Christian schools all my life. In 1977, I received my B.A. in
education from Dordt College in Sioux Center, IA. I married Tim Eekhoff and taught 2 years full time,
one year in Sioux Center Christian and one in Sibley Christian before my first daughter was born.
After a year in Lafayette, Indiana, we moved to Kanawha, Iowa, which was my husband’s hometown. I
taught part-time in the Christian school there while we raised our children.
In 1993, I taught full time again between Kanawha Christian and Forest City Christian Schools. My oldest
daughter was in high school at that time. My husband passed away in an accident at work in May of
1994. I had a full time contract with the Forest City Christian School for the following school year which
was a blessing for me. As a single mom with 3 children, I felt much needed support from our Christian
school family. The next year, after my second daughter graduated from Kanawha Christian, we all
traveled to Forest City together every day, where I taught and my children attended school.
I remarried in 1996 and moved to Clear Lake, Iowa, where we still reside. Between my husband, Tim
Veach, and myself, we have 6 children (and their spouses) and 8 grandchildren.
In 2005, I began teaching part time at North Iowa Christian and part time at Forest City Christian. North
Iowa was developing their own high school at that time. Eventually, I went full time at North Iowa and
am still teaching math and science in the 7-12 th grades there.
As I look back over my years of teaching, I have no regrets. As a Christian school teacher I can speak
freely of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and of the sacrifice He made for us. At North Iowa Christian we
all share this passion and are giving our professional lives for it. God has begun a good work at NICS and
He will see it to completion. May His will be done in our lives and may His kingdom come.
