I am excited to be a teacher at NICS and prepare students to live lives that glorify God. My goal
is to disciple them into servant leaders with a biblical, Christ-centered education. I want to serve as a role
model for students and guide them toward the answers in life only Jesus can provide. My goal is to equip
them holistically; mentally and spiritually to grow in the knowledge of the Lord; emotionally to be
present and counsel them according to God’s word; physically, to gain and maintain a healthy body for
the Lord’s use.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself! I grew up in a Christian home in Des Moines, Iowa
where I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was 16 at Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp. I met
my husband, Rod Carlson, while teaching P.E. at Eaton Middle School. It was here that I planted a
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at the middle school, and it grew to over 100 students! We have
two wonderful sons, Joshua (29) and Jerame (26). In addition to all of this, I am quite musical too! I am
an avid vocalist as well as violinist. I’ve been part of traveling worship teams, orchestras, church choirs,
and worship teams. Currently, Rod and I serve at First Baptist Church in Forest City, Iowa and serve on
the praise team.
